how to reinstall windows without losing linux

Hey all, Ive just put a new Mobo in my computer ans of course windows wouldnt load so i need to format my windows partition, how do i do that without loosing my ubuntu partition or grub
I have a 1tb HDD split in half windows 7/ubuntu 10.04

If you really want to format the win7 partition, one way is boot into your ubuntu installation, run GParted, click win7 partition, format it.
ubuntu partition and MBR will be intact.

Super Grub will fix the grub.http://www.supergrubdisk.org/

And use osloader if you have any troubles loading windows.

You should have been able to “repair” the existing installation using the windows installer disk.

You should also have been able to “install windows” without formatting the partition, installing from scratch, but leaving your previous (whatever replaced) c:\documents and settings\ intact.
