AeR0, its pretty simple.

Buy the Galaxy S from Bell no contract.

Connect to a WiFi network with no SIM card inserted.

Search in the Market app for “SGS Unlock”, 1 app will return called “Samsung Galaxy S Unlock Tool”.

Download and let install. Once installed run the app, and it will provide you with a code.

Write this code down so you can input it in the next step.

Turn off the phone and pop in your TELUS SIM card, then turn on the phone.

Once booted it will detect the non Bell SIM automatically and prompt you for the unlock code.

Enter your unlock code, probably reboot.

Now you’ll need to update your data settings if they didn’t automatically download from the network/SIM, you should check and possibly enter.

Go to the applications list, Settings, Wireless & Networks, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names.

Press the menu button, New APN.

Now enter the APN information from the following thread: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre…ed-11-25-2009*

APN: sp.telus.com
No username/password
MMS APN: sp.telus.com
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mmsc
MMS Proxy: 74.49.0.18:80

Done!

  1. What if the phone is under contract? How does that change anything?
