Xbox 360 and multiple TVersity PC / servers

It’s actually rather easy.

1. Open C:\Program Files\TVersity\Media Server\UPNP_AV_MediaServer_1.0.xbox360.xml

on Line 8 change
uuid:d1d17c53-ace6-4349-b5fa-6edcfc87159a
to
uuid:d1d17c53-ace6-4349-b5fa-6edcfc87159b………..or c or d as long as no two machines have the same one

2. on Line 10 change

TVersity on ${HOSTNAME} : 1 : Windows Media Connect
to
TVersity on ${HOSTNAME} : 2 : Windows Media Connect………..or 2 or 3 as long as no two machines have the same #

3. Now we need to tell the software that we have changed the uuid

in C:\Program Files\TVersity\Media Server\
open MediaServer.exe with something like notepad++ (yes it’s possible to open an .exe like that!) and find “d1d17c53-ace6-4349-b5fa-6edcfc87159a
to match whatever you changed it to in step 1

Restart the server and enjoy!

  2. Oh, snap! Works a champ. Hopefully the TVersity crew makes this a bit more user friendly in the future…not sure this is something most users are going to want to do. Then again…how many TVersity users are going to be running multiple servers and not be comfortable doing a little hex-editing? 😉

  4. I attemtped this with the newest version and it appears that UPNP_AV_MediaServer_1.0.xbox360.xml file no longer contains line 8. Did they change something since 09′?
